Sandy Chance Masters, 78, a longtime resident of Lacombe, Louisiana, and a resident of Carriere, Mississippi, for the past three years, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, in Carriere. Sandy was born September 18, 1946, in Moss Point, Mississippi, to Perry and Clarice Chance.  When Sandy was in the 8th grade the family moved to Lacombe.  In 1964, she graduated from Slidell High School and in 1965, she married Richard Masters in Lacombe. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Chance Badon.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Rip Masters; four children, Richard Masters Jr. (Jean), Rhonda Masters, Elizabeth White (Link), Jennifer Masters-Coate (Bryan); eight grandchildren, Brandon Masters, Braxton Masters, Taryn Masters (Michael), Devin Masters (Catherine), Kyle Masters, Bryan McArthur (Brianna), Loryn Ledet (Jason), Bryanna Coate; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Sandy worked for St. Tammany Parish Schools as Assistant Director of Transportation, where she retired in 2017 after more than 30 years of service. She also worked in Emergency Preparedness for St. Tammany Parish.

Sandy and Rip served as volunteers and board members for the Greater Mandeville Seafood Festival Association, and she was active in politics. She enjoyed hobbies that included reading novels, solving puzzles and fishing with Rip and her family.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA on Saturday, November 2, 2024.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.
