Shelby Curtis Murphy, age 89, passed away on July 26th, 2025, at Slidell Memorial Hospital.

Shelby was born on December 10, 1935, to Clifton Eugene Murphy and Ruby Pearl Murphy in Bay St. Louis, MS. He is survived by his beloved wife Sylvia Murphy. With surviving nephews, Keith Murphy, Kevin Murphy, and Guy Gordon of Slidell, LA.

Shelby played football and graduated from Slidell High School. He fathered his career through the IBEW Local 130 in New Orleans, La. Some of his favorite past times and hobbies were fishing, hunting, showing horses, and wood working.

He served in the US Army from 1958 to 1960 stationed at Fort McClellan, AL. He was Honorably discharged with good conduct and service.
