Shirley Ann Roach, 73, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025. Shirley was a lifelong resident of a small fishing community on Salt Bayou Road in Slidell, Louisiana. She spent her entire life "on da bayou," crabbing, fishing, reading good books, and living life on her own terms.

She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore "Ted" Roach; her mother, Mae Barnes Roach; her brother, James "JL" Eads; her sisters, Frances "Fran" Roach Joffrion, Laura Ruth "Biddy" Eads Brewer, Elizabeth Ann Roach, Bobbie Nell "Tiny" Eads Cutrer, and Irene Roach Bray; and her son, Eli Timothy Roach.

Shirley is survived by her children, Glynis Mae Caruthers and husband Matias, Ted William Roach and wife Danielle, and Salud Mendez; her grandchildren, Ian Mikel Caruthers and wife Breanna, Seth Collin Caruthers, Elianah Mendez, Caden Dunne, Braylyn Dunne, Righlyn Dunne, Akxel Gonzalez-Caruthers, and Liam Roach; and her siblings, Johnnie Mae Eads Verette, Perry Lankford Roach, and Mikel David Roach. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Shirley was known for her unwavering support and tireless commitment to caring for others. Her compassion will live on in the lives she touched, and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be loved by her.

Shirley lived each day to the fullest. She embraced life fearlessly, honestly, and unapologetically. She gave her all, every single day. She was strong, imperfect, and deeply human, yet never judged others for their flaws. If she loved you, she loved you completely. Her forgiveness was genuine, her care unwavering, and her love fiercely loyal.

One simple, profound reminder of her enduring love will always be her voicemail:

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA  on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 11:00 A.M.

Visitation on Saturday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.
