Sidney B .Betbeze, Jr., 80, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Sidney was born on Sunday, August 15, 1943, in New Orleans, to Sidney B. Betbeze, Sr. and Leona F. Rihner.  Sidney was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and retired from the New Orleans Police Department after 29 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marie Betbeze; two children, Elana Ponceti (Anthony), Michael Betbeze (Jennifer); four grandchildren, Gabrielle Ponceti, Genevieve Ponceti, Angelina Betbeze, Katherine Betbeze; his sister JoAnn Lloyd(John) and brothers, James Betbeze(Laura), and Kenneth Betbeze. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law whom he loved. He was most proud of his four granddaughters all of whom he loved deeply. Sidney will be missed by all of his friends and family.

A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte St, in Mandeville, Louisiana.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon.

Burial will be in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 9:00am.
