Stephen "Steve" Maurer, 71, of Lacombe, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, in Covington, Louisiana.

Steve was born October 10, 1952, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Raymond and Patricia Maurer.  At an early age, the family moved to Baton Rouge.

In 1986 he married Ann LeBlanc in Baton Rouge. Steve was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division Association, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lacombe, Louisiana; the NRA, Militia Immaculata, Knights at the Foot of the Cross, America Needs Fatima (Rosary Captain), St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus-Alex Semel Council 12989.

He had been employed by PHI, Bell Helicopters, Sha'Heen Helicopters, Aerogulf, Royal Oman Police-Airwing.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Maurer; and a sister, Theresa Maurer

He is survived by his wife, Ann Maurer; three children, Roy Maurer, Sally Maurer Carl (Nathan), Nancy Maurer Lee; sister, Cherie Maurer; grandchildren, other relatives, and special Airborne buddy, Stef Cukierski.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 61030 Brier Lake Drive in Lacombe.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by the funeral mass at 11:00.

Burial will be in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 10:00am.
