Susan Maureen Ardoin, 67, of Destrehan, Louisiana, left this world to be with our Lord on Monday, March 16, 2026, after decades of battle with Multiple Sclerosis, (MS). She was born on January 12, 1959, in Pensacola, Florida to her parents, Joseph and Julia Ardoin, who preceded her in death.

Maureen earned her undergraduate degree, in Special Education, from Louisiana State University, (LSU) in Baton Rouge.  She went on to receive her master's degree in Special Education from the University of New Orleans, (UNO), in New Orleans.  Teaching was her passion.  She taught in both St. Charles Parish and Jefferson Parish.  She was known to take special interest in her students, often tutoring them on her own time.  Even after she retired and her movements were severely restricted, she continued to teach from home via computer.

Maureen loved life, venturing out as often as possible, to be with family and friends though it took much effort on her part.  She never complained about her condition, accepting it, instead, as her cross to bear.  She will be sadly missed.

Maureen was preceded in death by her brothers, Karl (Deborah) and Brett (Kelly).

Maureen is survived by her four sisters, Julienne Collignon (Bob), Celeste Silbernagel (Joe), Melinda Favalora (Doug), and Kelly (SIL-Brett), along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great grandnieces and a great grandnephew, all who lovingly called her Mimi, and by many friends she called family.

Memorial Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West Slidell LA 70460, on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the memorial service at 11:00am.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.
