Thea Vanderklis Labit, 82, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in Slidell.

Thea was born May 11, 1941, in The Hague, The Netherlands. In 1961 she married Bert Vanderklis.  In 1979 the couple moved to Slidell, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bert Vanderklis, and her second husband, Larry Labit.

Thea is survived by three children, Laura Vanderklis, Benny Vanderklis (Michelle), Eric Vanderklis (Kim); two sisters, Leny Vollebregt (Henk), Willy Boelema (Theo); two brothers, Kees Paalvast, Jan Paalvast (Willy); nine grandchildren; Nathaniel Johnson, Alyssa Lassus, Amber Vanderklis, Zach Tranchina; Shayne Tranchina, Kody McGregor, Kasey McGregor, Nicole Vanderklis, Sarah Vanderklis; one great-grandchild, Layla McGregor.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell, on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:00am.  Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00am.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.
