TED P. BAAS, 82, of Bay St. Louis MS, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026. Born August 24, 1944, in New Orleans to parents Laurence John Baas Sr. and Gladys Felicity Roux Baas, he was christened Theobald Philip Baas after his grandfather.

He is survived by his daughters Rebecca Baas McTaggart and Lindsey Baas Reece (Greg), his six grandchildren Elliott James, Julian Daniel, Nolan Laurence, Paul Stafford, Maya Lin, and Graham Philip; his dear friend and former wife of 29 years, Nancy Part Baas of Slidell; his dear friend and partner of 20 years, Susan Schwankhart of Bay St. Louis, his brothers Ray C. Baas (Bernadette) of Mandeville and Roy Franc Baas (Fay) of New Orleans and Westminster CO, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Laurence J Baas, Jr. and nephew Jason Patrick Baas.

Ted graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1962, attended LSU New Orleans, served in the Louisiana National Guard, and worked as a computer tech manager and internal auditor, before establishing an active licensed real-estate brokerage business in Louisiana and Mississippi in the 1980s. He resided in Bay St. Louis and is well known in New Orleans-Slidell, Picayune MS, and along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Ted loved music, fishing, crabbing, road trips, the New Orleans Saints, and, most importantly, connecting and staying in touch with family, friends and clients. His digital music collection covers 60 years of music, which he loved sharing with everyone. He was lovable and gregarious, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who never met a stranger. He will be sorely missed by all.
