Thomas "Tod" Asten Lussen Jr., age 77, of Slidell, Louisiana passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023. Born on October 1, 1945, in Bronxville, New York, he was the son of the late Thomas Asten Lussen and Olive Simmons Lussen. He spent his early years in Kent, Ohio and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Tod graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baton Rouge, and then pursued an undergraduate degree, and a law degree at Louisiana State University. After completing law school, he entered the Army and served in Vietnam. After his Army discharge, he moved to Slidell, Louisiana and began his law career of 40 years.

Tod was preceded in death by his parents, stepsons, Bryan, Stuart, Scott, and Jason Knotts, and a granddaughter Ariel Knotts.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Marie Suzette O'Brien Lussen; his daughter, Hillary Lussen Allen (Matt); his brother, Richard Lussen of Tiblisi, Georgia, his sisters, Daryl Lussen Wilkinson of Nashville, Tennessee, and Elizabeth Lussen Schneider (Pete) of Slidell, Louisiana; grandchildren, Lucy, Scarlett, and Annabelle Allen, Heather Knotts Decaro (Joey), Emerald Knotts, Gauje Knotts, great granddaughters, Freya Clark, Kinley Decaro, and great grandson, Greyson Decaro, plus many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Tod was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, water skiing, flying his airplane, cooking, and enjoying life. He was a kind and generous man, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

The family would like to thank our "Team Tod" caregivers, Ethel Kemp, Tammy Johnson, Marina Hammond, Sandra Henley, and Lettie Lightfoot. We would also like to thank Tod's care team at Slidell Memorial Hospital. They were all so helpful and took such good care of Tod during his last days.
