Thomas Gerard "Jerry" Kelt Sr., age 74, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 6, 1951, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Dominick Henry Kelt & Dorothy Kelt.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Brenda Odaware Kelt. Father of three sons Thomas G. Kelt II (Sherry) Timothy G. Kelt (Miranda) and Troy G. Kelt and his sister Cheryl Holt. He was Papa to 9 grandchildren & 21 great grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his sisters, Dianna Bruno & Judy Stevens.

Jerry spent 42 years of his professional life working tirelessly as an Ironworker in the Union Local 58. Jerry loved making things & fixing things. His hobbies were woodworking, his fish, RC cars, working on Cuckoo Clocks among many other things. Jerry was a faithful man, and he was guided in life by strong values and devotion. Jerry had a positive impact on many people through his resilience he displayed while battling with illness for many years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 A.M.

Visitation on Friday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.

Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
