Dunne
Jun 12, 1945 — Nov 4, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Tommy Dunne, who left us on November 4, 2025. Tommy was a cherished member of his community, a devoted family man, and a true friend to many. Whether you called him Tom, Tommy, Tommy Dawn, or Coach, once you met him, you would never forget him.
Tommy was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 12, 1945, and was a proud New Orleanian. He attended St. James Major Grammar School in Gentilly and F.T. Nicholls High School, where he developed a wide range of interests—from music and sports to civic involvement—and formed lifelong friendships.
Tommy dedicated his professional life to sales, marketing, and political consulting, with his companies Fishing Map Center, Image Marketing and Image Media, as Marketing Director for New Orleans City Park, and through his involvement with civic organizations such as the Jaycees, the Chamber of Commerce, the New Orleans East Business Association, and the Almonaster Michoud Industrial District, Tommy made a lasting impact on his community.
As lead vocalist of Tommy Dawn and the Sunsets from the early 1960s through the early 1970s, he and his fellow musicians brought joy to countless people through music. Known for his integrity, work ethic, and leadership, Tommy inspired colleagues and contributed meaningfully to every endeavor he pursued.
Tommy is survived by his beloved wife of over 58 years, Cynthia Gautier Dunne. He is also survived by his children Ronnie Dunne (Jeanne), Robert Dunne (Ilkin), Lori Dunne Fasone, Lisa Dunne Milliet (Tony) and his bonus son, Paul Pati (Kim).
Tommy is survived by his grandchildren: Macy Dunne Howard (Austin), Cameron Dunne, Burak Kandil, Andrew Dunne, Aaron Dunne, Chris Fasone, Teresa Fasone, Joseph Fasone, Tyler Arbon, Anthony (Ace) Milliet, and bonus grandson David Desroche.
He is also survived by his siblings Barry Dunne and Brian Dunne.
Tommy's warmth, generosity, and unwavering support touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. His family and friends will forever treasure the memories and lessons he imparted.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand Dunne and Anna Mae Boesch Dunne, and his brother Wayne Dunne.
Tommy's legacy lives on through his family, his many accomplishments, and the love he shared. He will be remembered for his passion for music, people, and food, as well as his compassion, humor, and wisdom. He leaves an indelible mark on all our hearts.
