Truett Brian Carter, Sr., age 97, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Maurine Gross Carter. Father of Truett B. Carter, Jr., Michael Carter (Judy), Renea Carter (Freddie), Joseph Carter (Debbie), Kirk Carter, Matthew Dean Carter and the late Keith Carter. Son of the late Savery Carter and Etta McDonald Carter. Brother of R.D. Carter, Burrough Carter, Cortez Carter, Eythel Butler and Queenie Faulk. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

A native of Downsville, La. and a longtime resident of Slidell. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during WWII, and then in the La. National Guard as a Master Sargent. He was the former owner of Carters' Appliance and Flooring and Carter's Wrecker Service.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Graveside Services, with Military Honors, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1751 Gause Blvd., West, Slidell, La., on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
