Victor Manuel Romero, born on August 17, 1930, in Guatemala City, Guatemala, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at the age of 95. He was the beloved son of Victoria Valdés de Romero and Manuel Romero Cruz.

Victor was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Arriola; his parents Victoria and Manuel; and his siblings Susana Romero Valdés, Clara Romero Valdés, Josefina Romero Valdés, and Juan Jaime Romero Cruz—each of whom held a special place in his heart.

He is survived by his devoted daughters: Sandra (Juan Fernando), Elizabeth (David), and Blanca. His legacy continues through his six cherished grandchildren Juan Fernando (Valerie), David James (Tara), Jessica, Nicole (Colin), Jennifer (Bruce), and Besty (Ernest) as well as eight great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Those who knew Victor will remember him for his warmth, humor, and dedication to his family. An avid soccer fan throughout his life, he played as a child and young adult and later enjoyed following both the Guatemalan and U.S. national teams. He passed on his love for athleticism and spirited competition to his daughters, who carried that passion forward in their own lives and infused the same passion in their children and grandchildren.

Victor's life was a testament to strength, compassion, and hard work. He leaves behind a legacy built on love and a lifetime of meaningful connections. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

Victor's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Foundations Hospice, especially Ashley, Makena, and Raenell, as well as the entire staff at Heritage Manor who spent countless hours ensuring his comfort as he approached his final days.

A visitation will be held on Saturday November 22, 2025, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell, LA 70458) from 10 am to 12 pm followed by a Catholic Mass celebrated in his honor.
