Obituary

Victor George Steudlein, 73, of Slidell, LA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 13,1949 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late George Albert Steudlein and the late Irene LeJeune Steudlein. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert James Steudlein.

He is survived by his loving devoted wife Cynthia (Cindy) Steudlein of 49 years; his children Kurt Christopher Steudlein (Alicia); Christine Steudlein Otillio (Neil), and Eric Daniel Steudlein (Kris). His five grandchildren, Koen Carter Steudlein, Victoria Lyndee Otillio, Luke Boston Otillio, Forest Rel Steudlein, and River Ann Steudlein.

Vic was proud of his 22 years of service to the United States Navy, serving in the Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War, Desert Storm War and Iraq War, he loved his country. He was a graduate of Abramson High School class of 1970. Employed by South Central Bell, Bellsouth, and AT & T and a member of CWA (Communication Workers of America) until his retirement. He was a member of Endymion and the New Orleans Emerald Society, he made lifelong friends wherever he went. Vic enjoyed fishing, classic cars, shooting at the range, traveling, and building things. He looked forward to his gatherings with his friends and family. His Navy buddies were never far from his thoughts. He built a great life for himself and family, he knew the values of life and cherished the moments that made memories. He endured until the very end, like Paul when he said in II Timothy 4:7-8, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness."

Vic will be remembered for his devotion to his family and as the best husband, father, and grandfather we could ask for. He will be tremendously missed by all who loved him.

A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.
