William Frank Levy, 80, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024.  "Butch," as he was lovingly called by friends and family, was a native of Slidell, Louisiana. He was born to James and Elizabeth Levy on July 22, 1943. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia Norra Levy, and siblings Betty Levy Dossett, Howard Levy, Noel Levy, Morris Levy, Robert Levy, and James Levy, Jr.

Butch graduated from Slidell High School, studied at Southeastern Louisiana University for two years, and then joined the Air Force. Stationed in Thailand for the Vietnam War, he served until honorably discharged. Making his home in Slidell, he worked at the Nasa Computer Complex. Butch was also the leader of local bands, Day by Day and Superband, which played for Mardi Gras balls for many years. He moved to the US Postal Service in Slidell and was a carrier until his retirement.

In addition to his postal career, Butch was a gifted musician, electronics repair man, and media technician. A man who could fix anything, Butch was an authorized Fender and Peavey repairman, and worked on instruments and amplifiers for Christie Music in his spare time. Active in the First United Methodist Church, he was a member of the Feed Dat Ministry and the FUMC Army, both of which serve those in need. He was also a member of the Faith Group and performed at church services and gatherings. As media specialist for FUMC, he created the media slides for church services on Sundays and made sure the services ran smoothly. A man who never said no, he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Butch was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by daughter, Lisa (Tim), and son, James (Keri). He was "Pop" to eight grandchildren, Alexis (Jeff), Emily (Sheldon), Aidan, Hadley, Noah, Ally, Blaise and Levi. He has three great grandchildren, Norah, Everly, and Leo. He is also survived by numerous sisters in law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA, on Friday, January 26, 2024.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

A celebration of his life will occur at First United Methodist Church in Slidell immediately after the service.
