It is with sincere sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our patriarch and hero, Willie H. Brice Jr., a native of Stuttgart, AR, and a long-time resident of Lacombe, LA., due to health complications.

Willie H. Brice Jr. was born on MAY 21, 1944, and entered the gates of Heaven- "talking as usual". However: this time he was talking and praying to HIS "Almighty Savior". He slipped away from us on Saturday DECEMBER 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Typical of Willie, as he was talking, he was gazing at his beloved wife Delores as he took his last breath. Always concerned with Delores's well-being, he was determined not to slip away, until he was convinced, she had accepted his "going to glory" and leaving her.

Willie was a man of deep Christian faith, which guided every aspect of his life and provided comfort to those around him. His love for God was displayed through his daily actions and the way he treated everyone with respect and compassion. As a teacher/ motivational speaker, Willie often shared inspiring words "WHATEVER I CAN DO TO HELP OTHERS FEEL BETTER ABOUT THEMSELVES; MEANS I HAVE IMPROVED MYSELF".

Mr. Brice worked with St. Tammany Parish School System and had over 35 years of experience as a classroom teacher, assistant principal and principal. Prior to relocating to St. Tammany Parish in 1984, Mr. Brice worked in Omaha, Nebraska as an educator with the Omaha Public School System and the University of Omaha Continuing Education Programs. Mr. Brice worked with the Upward Bound Programs at Creighton University, teaching American Government and Intro to Constitutional Law.

Willie H. Brice Jr. served his country with honor as a Vietnam War veteran. He was awarded numerous awards and citations for combat action and skill leadership while serving with the "REDCATCHER 199th INFANTRY BRIGADE". Two of the combat citations were Bronze Stars.

Since his retirement in 2007 he has volunteered and worked tirelessly with many committees or organizations.

Willie is proceeded in death by his parents, Willie H. Brice Sr. and Louise Jones Brice; brothers, Roosevelt and Jesse Brice; and sisters, Lorene Amos, Mattie Crayton, and Mary London.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Delores Washington Brice; son, Kendrick Brice; daughter, Chandra Sandiego; granddaughter, Tiarra (whom he calls his Princess); brothers, Jeff (Augusta) Brice of San Diego, CA., Arthur (Cathy) Brice of New Orleans, LA.; sisters, Patricia Jackie of Stuttgart, AR., Deborah (Curtis) Hill of Stuttgart, AR.; sister-in-law, Mary Brice of Muskogee, OK.; and brothers-in-law, Melvin and Keith (Rebekka) Washington. He leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family; priest and parishioners of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, St. Tammany Parish Schools, VFW Post 8290, Louisiana Retired Teacher Association, 22nd JDC Veterans Court, RSVP, VMAAC, and Omaha Public School System are invited to attend the funeral.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 ROBERT BLVD, Slidell, LA 70458 on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 12:00 P.M.

Officiating is Father Jorge Gomez and Deacon Chris Schneider.

Visitation from 10:00 A.M. till 11:30 A.M. in the church.

Interment to follow with military honors at The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly ask that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of a Memorial Mass for Willie H. Brice Jr. and your continued prayers.
